The Magic of Language
“The Magic of Language” is an Erasmus+ funded project that provides a board game and classroom materials for language teachers.
The board game develops language skills essential for the era of AI and the innovation economy. The game focuses on:
- Understanding the phenomenon of language;
- Skills for clear and engaging written expression of ideas;
- Skills for verbal expression;
- Skills for critical text comprehension.
The game and materials are suitable for both native and foreign language studies.

What is "The Magic of Language"?
The Magic of Language is a card game through which students enhance their language skills to a higher level. The goal of the game is for participants to become “Masters of Magic” by completing language tasks and challenges.
The game begins with the “Path of Language,” where young people learn the benefits of language skills through cards and tests. Participants can then choose a training path to become “Masters of Magic” in one of the following areas:
Complete tasks and challenges to:
- Earn badges by completing 4 tasks or 2 tasks and a challenge.
- Record your progress on a SCORECARD.
- Switch between paths by earning badges.
Become a Master:
- Complete the initial LANGUAGE path and earn 8 badges from other paths.
- Complete 3 challenges from the MYSTICAL PATH.
Why "The Magic of Language"?
From working with over 3,500 young people, we see that many students in grades 9, 10, even 11, and 12 struggle to express their ideas clearly.
Many read texts in their native language but fail to grasp the content and extract the necessary information. Often, when presenting, young people find it difficult to speak fluently, get nervous, and struggle to follow the logic of their presentation.
In the digital age, there are many challenges to developing language skills:
- Early exposure to screens: Hinders cognitive development and critical and abstract thinking.
- Primarily online communication: Creates significant barriers to free face-to-face expression.
- Few discussions and debate opportunities in class: Leads to stereotypes, prejudices, and a lack of critical thinking.
- Young people reading less: Results in a lack of basic skills for information analysis and creative use.
- Rarely writing by hand:
All these factors make it difficult to develop language skills and often lead to cognitive deficits.
