The My Career Path program from Edu Compass is designed to support 11th-grade students in discovering their talents, passions, and potential career directions. Through four interactive meetings, students build a personalized career profile, guided by real-world insights, hands-on activities, and expert advice.
In this opening session, students explore the concept of a successful career through the My Career Path career guidance game. They work in teams to envision a startup, each student taking a unique role and “investing” their skills or talents. This exercise introduces them to the main components of a career profile, helping them understand the building blocks of professional success. Former program participants share their success stories, inspiring students to see a wide range of career possibilities.
Outcome: Students complete Meeting 1 with a foundation in career profile elements and a deeper understanding of what success can look like.
The second session focuses on creating an individual career profile. Using reflection exercises and interactive cards, students identify their areas of talent and passion. This process connects personal interests with potential career paths, showcasing industries that align with their skills. The session also emphasizes the importance of consistent effort, with examples of past participants who found success through persistence.
Outcome: By the end of Meeting 2, students have a preliminary career profile that combines their talents and passions, giving them a clearer sense of direction.
After reflecting on their profiles between sessions, students enter Meeting 3 with a completed career profile ready to be matched with real-world occupations. This session provides insights into current industry trends, educational paths, entry-level roles, and growth opportunities within each field. The team at Edu Compass emphasizes the value of career planning skills, preparing students to make informed decisions about their futures.
Outcome: Meeting 3 leaves students with a matched set of career options aligned with their profiles, equipping them with a realistic understanding of their chosen field’s dynamics and potential paths forward.
The final session brings together everything learned throughout the program. Through individual consultations and discussions with guest speakers, students have the chance to address concerns, explore entrepreneurial interests, and gain insights into the realities of career building. Guest speakers share experiences from their own professional journeys, showing students what it takes to succeed, whether they choose to start a business or pursue further education.
Outcome: By the end of Meeting 4, each student has a clear set of career options, an understanding of their next steps, and increased confidence in their career path.
Feedback from participants reveals the program’s transformative impact. Many students report increased confidence, clarity, and motivation to pursue their selected careers. One student noted that they stopped procrastinating after understanding their profile, while another felt prepared to explain and defend their choices to their family. The program not only benefits students uncertain about their future but also strengthens the resolve of those with clear goals.
Edu Compass’ approach to career guidance is practical and forward-thinking, equipping students with lifelong skills for career planning and decision-making. The program helps students bridge the gap between ambition and action, teaching them to value persistence and effort as keys to a fulfilling career.
