In our work with youth, teachers, companies and startups, we observe that youth don’t have many opportunities to develop life skills in depth.<\/p>\n

“You’ve got time” is a great refrain, but time spent in the wrong place and leading to a lack of motivation and desire to progress can’t be helpful.[\/mk_icon_box2][mk_icon_box2 icon_type=”image” icon_size=”64″ icon_image=”https:\/\/edu-compass.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/leader.svg” title=”Learning about professions, fields of activity and appears” title_size=”18″ align=”left”]While professions die and pop up every day, many young people don’t know many professions or have preconceived notions about the ones they do know.<\/p>\n

Talking to mentors helps, but often the student does not see themselves as the mentor or practitioner of the profession and needs to explore it more objectively.[\/mk_icon_box2][mk_icon_box2 icon_type=”image” icon_size=”64″ icon_image=”https:\/\/edu-compass.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/mentors.svg” title=”Developing goal-setting and planning skills” title_size=”18″ align=”left”]Students explore, test the goal-setting process and understand what might trip them up on the way to the goal and what to do when the trip-up occurs.<\/p>\n

From author Mihai Csikszentmihalyi’s Flow , to Angela Duckworth’s Girt , to Sir Ken Robinson, all authors agree that persistence in a meaningful human goal is key to success and satisfaction.[\/mk_icon_box2][mk_icon_box2 icon_type=”image” icon_size=”64″ icon_image=”https:\/\/edu-compass.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/award-3.png” title=”Developing financial literacy knowledge and skills” title_size=”18″ align=”left”]Students understand basic economic concepts and processes, their application in life and learn to put them into practice.<\/p>\n
